There are many, many forms to learn in TKD. My personal favorite is taeguek Chill-jang, and the form that I have learned the most recently is Koryo. There are 17 total forms, and 1-8 are taeguek. A form is a series of blocks, kicks, stances, and techniques all put into a coordinated routine. The first form you will learn is taeguek Ill jang, a 16 step form that is very simple and only consists of the very basic techniques. Forms are the hardest part of TKD if you want to get them right. You have to take all your kicks, blocks, and stances and,(for lack of a better word) upgrade them. If you are going to do a competition, you have to practice every day if you want to get a good score. In a competition, you start with 10 points and as you go on, you lose points, and can’t get them back. The reason I like forms is because they are fun for me. This is all about forms.

Well done, Alex! We enjoy watching you practice your forms. You are always so very focused.
